In responding to Project  1A, this project required, still, 5-in-a-group of us, to design a walk themed "journey for the 5 senses".

For the outcomes, we had produced 2 physical models, linear and concentric each, in respecting to illustrate and visualise the architectural viewpoint of spaces through the poetry given. We were given the poem, "The Wall" :

The wall devilishly grey;

I made it myself; so strong, so high

neither could I break nor could I fly;

not a wall of brick or stone,

made of intangbles -

Fear, despair, angst;

left me cloaked

in a darkness infinite.

I perish here of

desolation, not

stronger enough to

shatter the wall, and let

the light slower my soul.

The soul craves for

The hollowed ray, for

someone to crush the

wall into dust,

set me free,

show me the light.

Based on the translation made from the poem, we came out with the interpretation of "Wall - is Me, Myself." With this starting-point, we generate, illustrate and visualise the ideas by using 2 contrasting typologies to produce one linear (50 meters) and another concentric (10mX10mX10m) structures.

The period of translating the poem has making us gone through a lot of deep-thinking sessions- squeezing, twisiting, pumping our brain juices, to interprete the deep, thoughtful yet abstract kind of translation. Credits to our Porject 1 tutor, Ms Raihana, who has pushed us so much in giving us another way of motivation to do the best to be able to find and bring out the qualities of 5 senses through the spatial design in the building.  We had spent several sleepless night in completing the set of drawings and models; however, satisfactory comments were well given by our tutor which really encouraged and enriched us with positive energy in order to carry the skills developed into the coming relative projects.

Upon the completion of this project, which also basically sum up the whole set of Project 1 of this subject, all-rounded skills have been well instilled, improved and developed in 5 of us. Not only with good model-making skills, 2D & 3D drawings and verbal presentation are also essential to express, visualise and communicate the overall ideas and concepts, enhancing the thorough expression and exprience of the journey of 5 senses within each of the building.
